Resalta is launching a new combined heat and power (CHP) project in the Czech Republic, for Aquapalace Praha. The unique Waterworld, occupying an area of 9,150 m2, is the largest water park in Central Europe. As a large year-round energy consumer, the company’s concern with sustainability and environmental responsibility led it to hire Resalta to improve the efficiency of its electric and heating systems.
Resalta will replace two old inefficient 400 kWe CHP units with two brand new, high efficiency 500 kWe units. The project includes the necessary renovation of the boiler room and the installation of a 100 m3 accumulation tank. The CHP system will produce more than 8 GWh of heat and 6 GWh of electric energy per year.
Combined heat and power systems are optimal for businesses with high electricity and heat consumption as they generate both, making them one of the most efficient energy systems available. Thus, CHP projects are a very effective method of improving energy efficiency and generate immediate results, achieving energy as well as financial savings while lowering environmental impact.
Aquapalace is the second CHP project that Resalta is realizing in the Czech Republic, following an energy renovation project for Mora Moravia, the stove producer, in Olomouc. Besides providing industrial and hospitality clients with cogeneration units, Resalta also develops large scale combined heat and power plants, such as the 5MW biomass cogeneration plant in Slatina, Croatia, that generates enough electricity each year to power 500 households, as well as 96 GWh of thermal energy.
Resalta, the leading independent energy services provider in SEE, entered the Czech market in 2019. Under the ESCO business models, Resalta offers its clients turnkey energy efficiency solutions that begin with energy audits, project design, implementation, financing and include operations and maintenance for the duration of the contract. The company also fully finances energy projects for its clients, who repay the investment from their achieved financial savings.
Resalta has realized over 200 projects for over 130 clients. A dynamic, fast-growing company, Resalta works with both public and private clients to finance, design and implement projects that reduce energy consumption, lower CO2 emissions and promote sustainability while generating cost savings. Besides being present in Bulgaria, Croatia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia and Slovenia, Resalta has expanded to the Czech Republic, Italy and Poland as well, offering the same impeccable quality of service throughout Central and Southeastern Europe. Besides providing energy services, Resalta also develops renewable energy powerplants in the fields of solar PV and biomass.
