Situation before the contract and client requirements
The Radenci Health Resort is one of the biggest health resorts in Slovenia. It has 10 pools with a total of 1,460 m2 of water surface. The resort used natural gas for heating, which required 8,500 MWh per year. The client wanted to lower heating costs.
Resalta solution
Resalta did a careful analysis of the actual consumption of the resort in order to come up with the best solution.
Resalta developed and installed a cogeneration plant (CHP) with a combined electrical power of 889 kW (43 % efficiency) and thermal power of 891 kW (43 % efficiency).
The CHP plant has a lifespan of up to 70,000 operating hours - ensuring a minimum of 7,000 operating hours per year.
Resalta operates and maintains the plant, sells heat and electric energy to the client and monitors the system through its central control system (web access) in real time.
